Happy Monday, friends! Sorry I’ve been a little MIA lately. Life calls! However, I did manage a quick bathroom makeover a few weeks ago. Come check it out!
We have two guest rooms and two bathrooms in our house downstairs. As soon as we moved in I immediately painted the bedrooms and one of the bathrooms, because they were a loud yellow color and I couldn’t handle it. But this bathroom was more neutral, so it just kind of stayed that way.
This is the bedroom/bathroom combo our younger son sleeps in when he visits and most of our typical guests are males. (Due to golf tournaments, etc.) Plus, the bathroom has a masculine vibe with the dark brown tile and vessel sink. Since changing the tile and doing a major renovation are not in the budget, I had to work with what we have. So, the simplest and least expensive way to change a room is paint and accessories! Here’s where I started…
I’ve been dying to try the color Boothbay Gray by Benjamin Moore and I thought this room was the perfect opportunity! The existing tile has a bit of blue/gray in it so I thought I’d try to bring it out a little via paint. I painted the small bathroom in a few hours and then added a picture of Sean Connery as James Bond that I had from our previous home. I mean, if you have a masculine room, why not pull out all of the stops? (Can we all agree he was THE best Bond?)
I also added a cool mirror I had in my stash to balance out all of the square lines in the room. Plus, the gold in the mirror matches the gold tones of the sconce, and accessories. The new paint color feels so fresh and clean and I love the subtle changes in the room. Ah, the power of paint!
A quick before and after. All in a half day’s work! Bring on the company!
Well, I have a few more things I’d like to share with you this week, so stay tuned! Let’s chat again soon! xoxo Dell
