Happy Monday, Friends! Today I was in desperate need of retail therapy after a long morning at the dentist’s office. And what better way to celebrate a successful dental procedure than a crown with a crown?
Nothing in this world makes me more white knuckled than going to the dentist. Childhood memories I guess. So, after my visit today and another scheduled for tomorrow I am frazzled. But then I spotted a few crystal chandeliers on our Facebook Marketplace Page and suddenly all is well in my world! Now I can have happy memories of getting a crown because of this:
Doesn’t it look like a crown fit for royalty? I found it on the marketplace page for a mere $20. (Truthfully it was a little more, but my husband likes to hear when I get something for $20 and I aim to please.) I think it was meant to be. And it was a quick 20 minute trip to pick it up!
This beauty is a five arm brass and crystal chandelier. It’s obvious some of the crystals are missing, but not to worry. I just got in a new batch! (From China I think~via eBay) All it needs is a little cleaning and some tightening of the screws. The placement of the holes lead me to believe there was also some crystal bead garland at one point. I’ll play with the size and placement of crystals when I figure out where it goes. Or will go, in the next house.
The chandelier came with this pretty canopy and a few extra crystals. Since we are moving soon, I’ll probably tackle this project at a later date. It will go in the chandelier box with the others. The crystals will be labeled and packed separately. (I really need a work shop in our next house!)
To further brighten my spirits, the seller had this one as well. Isn’t it sweet? I even like the amber colored crystals.
Here are both of the chandeliers. I plan to do a bit of research and try to find out how old they are etc. It seems there was a period of time where the amber color crystals were an “in” thing.
I am so pleased with my treasures that it makes me not as leery to go back to the dentist tomorrow. Maybe I’ll take the smaller one with me for emotional support. I’m sure my dentist won’t find that odd at all.
I’m looking forward to finding a new house to decorate! One where we can install and enjoy our chandelier collection. Seriously, I should take an electrical wiring class. I could save us a bundle on switching out fixtures. Meanwhile, I’m still working on the chandeliers that we are leaving behind. I think they are coming along nicely. I’ll share them tomorrow!
I hope you have a lovely and pain free day! Thank you for stopping by! xoxo Dell
