Today is the day to deliver the welcome baskets to the new neighbors! We gathered various menus, maps, and directories along with a few small goodies for each basket. Today we assemble the baskets and send out the welcome wagon!
We bought the wicker baskets at Cost Plus World Market (for $6.99 each) along with basket fillers ($3.99 each) and plastic wrap ($1.99 each). World Market also had gift soaps by Castelbel with pretty bird and flower wrap for $6.99. I couldn’t resist as they are so pretty and smell divine! (I got the Freesia & Pear, Jasmine & Hyacinth, and Lilly & Orange Blossom scented soaps.)
We picked up maps, menus to local restaurants, applications to the free library along with a few gift cards for each basket. We also included some locally made grape jelly and chocolate covered pretzels from the farmer’s market. One of my favorite boutiques, The Crystal Cottage, donated a few gift cards and some yummy smelling candles. Our gym donated a month’s free membership to each family.
I made some candy jars (out of pickle jars, of course!-directions later) for each basket and filled them with kisses. (well, Hershey’s chocolate kisses) We assembled each basket with the maps and all of the goodies and finally sprinkled some Lindt Lindor chocolates on top. (I assume everyone loves chocolate as much as I do!) Lastly, we wrapped the baskets in the plastic and tied some jute ribbon around the top.
All set! The gift baskets are ready for delivery! We hope the new neighbors will feel welcome and will love our neighborhood as much as the rest of us! Welcome new friends!
