Yesterday while working in my yard I was stung on the hand by an ungrateful honey bee. So, today I am working inside nursing my swollen hand and finally painting this pretty little table!
I bought this table a few months ago for $20 at an online garage sale. The marble top was broken and the wooden base was unstable and in pretty bad shape. Still it was a great size and had a great shape. I think it will make a nice game table!
I glued the marble top back together with E600 glue. That stuff is amazing! I also glued and clamped the base to add more stability. Below is the top glued together:
And then it sat in the basement for months! So, today while my hand is recuperating, I am painting the base. (Note to my Mother: the wood is in BAD shape and it is NOT a family heirloom.) So, here is the first coat of Amy Howard white chalk paint:
I will let it dry then apply a second coat and rub some light wax on top. I don’t know yet if I will add the dark wax too. I’ll keep you posted. Meanwhile, bee-ware if you are working outside! Have a great day!
