Happy Thursday! It’s been a long day. I am finally getting around to posting today and since I just got some special postage stamps in the mail, I thought I’d share them with you!
When my family first started planning for my son’s upcoming wedding earlier this year, we decided to have an engagement party and a bridal shower for the happy couple. I went to the post office and found these fun little “Love” stamps with an airplane. I decided to use these for the engagement party invitations. Perfect because the party was an outdoor affair at our lake house.
For the bridal shower invitations we custom ordered stamps using a photo I snapped of the happy couple at the engagement party. We ordered them from Zazzle.com. It was pretty simple, really. You simply download the picture you want to use and they make it into postage stamps! And we got them in about a week.
For the save the dates and the wedding invitations the couple chose a beautiful stamp featuring a bouquet of roses and greenery. They purchased these from their local post office. Luckily they are still in production. Beautiful!
Because the post office is known for retiring stamps after a certain period of time, if you see something you love, go ahead and buy it. However, I discovered you can buy retired stamps on eBay! For the rehearsal dinner invitations, which are going out next week, I chose this pretty stamp which features a pen and ink flower that resembles a peony. (My favorite flower.) The stamp also has a small red heart in the upper left corner and of course since it is forever stamp, it says forever. I like to think it symbolizes their marriage too.
These stamps are from 2015 so of course they aren’t available now other than on eBay. I plan on using these for the rehearsal dinner invitations as well as the rsvp cards. Isn’t it funny how much thought can go into invitations right down to the stamps? So, if you have a wedding coming up, don’t forget to check eBay for your stamps and other wedding related items.
Well, with one month and 14 days to go until the wedding we are in serious countdown mode. So many fun events to come!!! I’m ordering a few fun little surprises for the wedding as we speak.
I hope you have a lovely evening. Let’s talk tomorrow? xoxo Dell
