Happy Tuesday! My family is in full wedding planning mode and the happy day is exactly four months from today! Last week my sisters and sister in law sent out the bridal shower invitations. And my sister Wendy ordered the most adorable personalized postage stamps for the envelopes!
In May of this year we had an engagement party for our son and his fiancé at our lake house. (aka Happy Hill) I snapped a bunch of pictures of the happy couple and the festivities. All of the pictures turned out well, but one in particular was perfect. I think it captures these two sweethearts perfectly and the backdrop of greenery off of the deck set the scene beautifully. This is the picture. I love it.
So, when my sister was ordering the bridal shower invitations from Zazzle, she also ordered customized postage stamps using this picture. You simply go to Zazzle.com and search for postage stamps. A page will come up guiding you step by step. You can download the picture you wish to use. You can even choose a vertical or horizontal style stamp. The stamps come in sheets of 20 so you order as many as you need. Easy! And the cost of these personalized postage stamps is 49 cents each, which is no more than a stamp from the Post Office. And oh so much more fun!
Years ago when Wendy’s son was getting married she ordered personalized stamps for the rehearsal dinner invitations. She ordered them through the post office, which is also an option. (Stamps.com) She chose a classic black and white photo. This stamp is ten years old and you can see postage has gone up a penny per year since!
But since my sister ordered the bridal shower invitations from Zazzle, she ordered the stamps through them as well. Zazzle is always running specials sometimes with as much as 50% off, so if you check often, you can get great deals on anything custom made such as napkins, stickers, thank you cards, etc. As a matter of fact, if you order today you can save 30% site wide using the promo code: ZAZZLETHIRTY.
A fun fact? In 1950 a first class postage stamp was 2 cents. Yes, postage has gone up. And how about the quality of service? Let’s just say we have mail issues in our neighborhood…. I’m glad the post office didn’t strike through the pretty stamp! I just received my invitation yesterday. So pretty!
I love the idea of using personalized stamps! I didn’t think to do this for the engagement party and ended up buying some cute stamps at the post office. (pictured below.) Now I know how easy it is to order personalized stamps, I think I’ll do this for the rehearsal dinner, but maybe with a different picture.
Personalized stamps are great for special occasions or holidays too. The turn around time was about a week, so it didn’t take long at all to order them and receive them in the mail. The bridal shower is coming up next month. Lots of fun things to come, and the wedding will be here before we know it.
I’m thinking my pretty girl Lacey would make a lovely stamp. And what can’t be personalized these days? I hope you have a great day! Thank you for stopping by. xoxo Dell
