Today was my first day of vacation without company. Although I LOVE company it’s nice to have a down day too. So did I kick back and relax on the deck with a book? No. I wanted to visit one of my favorite antique stores!
Main Street Antiques & Design Gallery is one of my favorite antique stores. It’s like my Mother Ship. The antique mall is situated in historic downtown Mooresville, N.C. adjacent to Merino’s Home Furnishings. There are hundreds of vendors and approximately 100,000 square feet of antique heaven. You can find a huge assortment of antique furniture, clothing, jewelry, lighting and shabby chic style furnishings. I promise you won’t leave empty handed!
I found a few fun things today. Naturally I took pictures of things in the store that I assume someone will buy but not exactly my thing. It is the thrill of the hunt as usual. Here are a few things I didn’t buy.
A life size sock monkey. Going home with some lucky person for $50.
A clown head that inflates helium balloons for $79. (says from a dental office. Hmmmm)
An enormous tyrannosaurus rex wearing a cowboy hat. Didn’t see a price but it sure caught my eye.
I find this so interesting for some reason. Rex or Ramona?
Ok. I don’t know what this is. But it is large and carved out of wood. Maybe a antique pouty toddler?
An enormous fishing lure replica. It said “Not for Sale” which oddly made me want it more.
Some sort of donkey feeding her baby on wheels? Right.
And a cute pedal operated buggy for about $1500. It will probably be gone next time I go. Never know what folks will buy.
I did buy a few things. Less exotic and less expensive. I’ll show you tomorrow. I’m exhausted after walking all over this place! Have a great evening!
