TGIF, Friends! Do you have a fun weekend planned? I hope so! My husband and I love spending our weekends relaxing and cooking delicious food. Ever wonder how to cook perfect pork chops in the oven? Come see! (It’s fool proof!)
My husband usually insists on grilling out mostly every meat we buy. I agree there is nothing quite as tasty as a grilled hamburger, steak or chicken. But a few years ago when it was bitter cold and snow was up to our knees, we decided to try a new way to cook our pork chops. It is after all the “other white meat”, right?
So, I looked online to find the best way to cook pork chops in the oven and we gave it a try. They were so tasty and juicy, this is the only way we cook chops now! This method requires a cast iron pan, so if you don’t have one, you should get one, just for this. Give it a whirl and see if you agree!
HOW TO COOK PORK CHOPS IN THE OVEN:
1-Season your cast iron pan with olive oil and place in a cold oven.
2-Preheat oven to 400 degrees. (with the cast iron pan inside)
3-While the oven and pan are preheating, wash and pat dry the pork chops. (Bone in chops or boneless chops both work well.) You can fit 4-5 chops in a large cast iron pan usually. We season our chops with olive oil, garlic powder, salt and fresh pepper to taste on both sides.
4-Once the oven is preheated to 400 degrees, remove the pan and put in on top of the stove over medium-high heat. Make sure you turn on the fan!
5-Place the pork chops in the cast iron pan and sear for 3 minutes on one side.
6-Flip the chops over and cook for one additional minute.
7-Place the pan with the chops back in the oven and cook for 6-10 minutes more or until the chops are done. (We cook ours for about 7 minutes.)
8-Enjoy! I promise you this is the easiest and most delicious way to cook chops!
