Welcome to Throw Back Thursday! If you are like me you are still enjoying the last bits of Summer and all of a sudden we are inundated with everything pumpkin related. I refuse to decorate before it is officially Autumn, but I thought it would be fun to look back at how I decorated for Fall last year!
I must admit orange used to be one of my least favorite colors but now I have a new fondness for it! Especially because my kitchen has black granite and dark cherry cabinets, I think fall colors such as orange, yellow and black look perfect against the dark backdrop. I also discovered I love stuffed fabric pumpkins! This is the lazy Susan on our kitchen table. Last year I purchased these pumpkins and this adorable little black crow. I loved his hat and ruffled scarf. Unfortunately I dropped him shortly after this and broke off his poor little legs. (I still used him.)
This is how I dressed up our Veranda for Fall. The ferns were holdouts from my summer urns and the wreath is a yearly favorite. A few pumpkins, pillows, blankets and a tabletop heater? Perfect for those cool evenings!
Also perfect for a wet puppy dog who despite the cooler weather still swims in her pool until the day we cover it for winter. Funny girl!
A few faux pumpkins, some white mums and some battery operated candles makes a festive little table scape outdoors. And this table top gas heater really knocks the chill off of the covered Veranda.
Her Royal Highness Bunny is wearing her usual pearls and has a new witch hat. At first I had her sitting in front of my urn on the kitchen island along with some yellow mums.
A metal pumpkins amongst dried hydrangeas…
The big urn outside is dressed up for fall with ornamental grass, mums, kale, gourds and ivy. This arrangement usually lasts from the end of September until Thanksgiving if the weather isn’t too cold.
After the mums were spent in the kitchen, I moved them outside and replaced them with colorful gourds, miniature pumpkins and Indian corn. I switched HRH Bunny out with my rooster for some added color.
Then the rooster flew to the dining room.
I love using our gold charger plates. And white dishes are great for any season or occasion. The vintage silverware is from my grandmother, which I love.
The dining room table all set for the big Thanksgiving dinner. We always serve buffet style, so it doesn’t matter if centerpiece takes up so much room! Plus, I like to keep it fairly low so we can still talk over it.
The antique sideboard dressed with matching lamps and white roosters. Did I mention how much I love symmetry?
Well, since tomorrow is the official beginning of Autumn, I suppose it’s okay to to bring out the fall decorations now! I’ll probably still wait another week or so before buying my mums and pumpkins. What about you? Have you decorated for fall yet? Thank you as always for stopping by and supporting my blog. I love you for it! xox Dell
