I recently added a beverage station in my quest to update and brighten our kitchen. The look of it is ever changing as I keep rearranging its look and content. I think it’s almost there!
The beverage station spot formerly held a tall wrought iron baker’s rack. It was such a pretty piece and a perfect keeper of cookbooks and decorative items but was not very functional. Case in point, over the holidays we had some neighbors over for cocktails. I put the drinks and mixers in the corner of the kitchen. As we all know, parties tend to congregate in the kitchen and this was no different. Everyone was crowded in the back corner and it was difficult to get to the drinks. (not good at a party!). However, from this experience, an idea was born!
I found this great table at a favorite antique and consignment store.
I loved the bright color and gold hardware. It was also the perfect width. I wish it were a bit taller so I may add some casters to it later. For now it’s fine. I had a piece of ¼ glass cut for the top to protect it from water and spills. I’d love to use it as a coffee station too, but there is no outlet on that wall. (thought there was a rule about having an outlet on every wall, but for some reason in this house there is not.)
This beverage station table has some nice storage. It has two good size drawers that hold napkins, wine charms, corks & bottle openers. (and maybe a chocolate stash) The bottom shelf has plenty of room too.
I added a wooden box that neatly holds sparkling water and tonic. I can store ice buckets and extra drinks or wine underneath. Eventually I may add some shelving above the beverage station to hold glassware, etc. If I ever get an outlet installed, it will become a coffee and hot chocolate station too! My little Time for Cocktails Clock is set on five o’clock. The clock was another one of my featured “Antique of the Week” posts, so check it out below. With our clock set to Happy Hour Time, and our Table supplying all the necessary surface area and storage, we are stocked and ready to go! Here’s to y’all – Cheers!
